Authorities said an onboard inspection found no hull damage or water leakage, allowing the cruise to continue as planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The vessel was only grounded briefly before it was able to move off the reef,&#8221; said Stephanus Risdiyanto, head of the Class III Harbourmaster and Port Authority (KSOP) in Labuan Bajo. &#8220;After checks confirmed there were no leaks, the trip continued.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The number and nationalities of passengers onboard have not yet been released. Officials said the information will be available once the vessel returns to Labuan Bajo at the end of its scheduled voyage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the harbour authority, <strong>Gajah Putih<\/strong> had received all required sailing clearance before departing, and inspectors will conduct a more comprehensive technical examination when the vessel arrives back in port to ensure it remains seaworthy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The grounding came just hours after another tourist vessel, the speedboat <strong>Hook Up<\/strong>, also struck a coral reef in waters north of Bidadari Island at approximately 4:30 a.m. local time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While authorities have not indicated that the two incidents are connected, the back-to-back accidents on the same day have drawn attention to navigational safety in the increasingly busy waters surrounding Labuan Bajo, the main gateway to Komodo National Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The UNESCO-listed marine park has experienced rapid tourism growth over the past decade, attracting divers, liveaboard cruises, sailing yachts and day-trip operators eager to explore its famous islands, coral reefs and the habitat of the endangered Komodo dragon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Saturday&#8217;s incidents ended without reported injuries or major structural damage.
