Indonesia’s state-owned transport operator DAMRI<\/strong> has introduced an integrated public transport connection linking Denpasar<\/strong> with Penglipuran Village<\/strong>, offering fares starting from just Rp5,000<\/strong> (around US$0.30<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The service combines Bali’s Trans Sarbagita<\/strong> bus network with DAMRI’s regional routes, providing a more affordable and environmentally friendly way to reach one of the island’s most popular cultural attractions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“DAMRI not only connects communities from one region to another, but also opens access to tourism destinations with significant potential,” DAMRI Head of Corporate Communications Niken Distian<\/strong> said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Budget-Friendly Alternative to Renting a Scooter<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Located in Bangli Regency<\/strong>, about an hour’s drive northeast of Ubud, Penglipuran Village<\/strong> is renowned for its spotless streets, traditional Balinese architecture, and strong commitment to preserving local customs. The village is regularly listed among Bali’s must-visit cultural destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Until now, most independent travelers have relied on scooters, taxis or private drivers to reach Penglipuran, as public transport options have been limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new integrated bus service offers an alternative for visitors looking to explore Bali beyond its beaches without driving themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Getting to Penglipuran by public transport involves two bus services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The journey begins with the free Trans Sarbagita<\/strong> bus from GOR Ngurah Rai<\/strong> in Denpasar to Loca Crana Terminal<\/strong> in Bangli. Buses depart daily at 7:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2:00 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Loca Crana Terminal, passengers transfer to a DAMRI Pioneer Bus<\/strong> heading to Catur<\/strong>, Hulundanu<\/strong>, or Penarukan<\/strong>. All three routes pass through the Penglipuran area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The DAMRI buses operate every hour from 5:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.<\/strong>, with fares starting at Rp5,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to DAMRI, the integrated service is designed to make it easier for both local residents and visitors to reach Penglipuran without relying on private vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
