Ready for an exclusive adventure? Our Private Waerebo Tour offers a 2-day, 1-night journey into the heart of a remote Indonesian village, starting from just $103 per pax. The tour begins with a scenic ride from Labuan Bajo to Denge Village, followed by a trek through lush forests guided by a friendly local who shares fascinating stories along the way. Upon arriving at Waerebo, you will stay in the iconic cone-shaped Mbaru Niang houses, which resemble living inside a giant hat. Enjoy delicious local meals and wake up to a breathtaking sunrise. This trip is tailored entirely to your pace, your vibe, and promises an unforgettable adventure. Pack your bags and get ready to explore!
3 departures per week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Using a sharing car with a capacity of 4 pax. All-inclusive.
Tour to Batu Cermin Cave, Silvia Hill, and swimming inside Rangko Cave. Includes lunch, entrance tickets, and private car.

08:00 AM: Pick-up from your hotel in Labuan Bajo and begin the scenic drive to Denge Village. Enjoy views of lush forests, rolling hills, and local villages along the way.
12:00 PM: Arrive at Denge Village for lunch at a local restaurant. Savor traditional dishes and fuel up for the trek ahead.
01:30 PM: Start your guided trek to Waerebo Village. The trek takes approximately 2-3 hours, passing through lush jungles, rivers, and misty mountains.
04:30 PM: Arrive at Waerebo Village and receive a warm welcome from the locals. Settle into your stay in one of the traditional Mbaru Niang houses.
06:00 PM: Enjoy a delicious local dinner prepared by the villagers. Share stories with the local community and other travelers.
07:30 PM: Spend the night in the cozy, cone-shaped Mbaru Niang house. Relax under the stars and soak in the tranquility of the village.
After a day of trekking and exploring, you’ll spend the night in one of Waerebo’s traditional Mbaru Niang houses. These iconic cone-shaped homes are made from natural materials like bamboo and palm fibers, designed to blend perfectly with the surrounding nature. Each Mbaru Niang is a communal space, where you’ll sleep on mats alongside other guests, embracing the local way of life. The house is cozy, simple, and offers a rustic, authentic experience. There’s no electricity, so the night is lit by soft, warm lamplight, creating a peaceful and serene atmosphere. The sounds of nature outside lull you to sleep, making it an unforgettable night in the heart of this remote village.
06:00 AM: Wake up early to watch the magical sunrise over Waerebo’s mountains.
07:30 AM: Enjoy breakfast with fresh, local ingredients and Waerebo’s famous coffee.
09:00 AM: Say your goodbyes to the villagers and begin your trek back down to Denge Village.
11:30 AM: Arrive at Denge and rest before starting the drive to Lembor.
12:00 PM: Have lunch at a local restaurant in Denge Village, then continue the journey to Lembor.
01:30 PM: Arrive in Lembor and visit the unique Spider Web Rice Fields, known for their beautiful and intricate patterns.
03:30 PM: Depart from Lembor and head back to Labuan Bajo.
06:00 PM: Arrive in Labuan Bajo, drop-off at your hotel, and the tour ends.
Note on Arrival Time in Labuan Bajo:
Due to road conditions and other unforeseen factors, the arrival time back in Labuan Bajo may not always align with the itinerary. Please be flexible, as times can change based on the situation during the trip.
Trekking Duration: The trek to Waerebo takes about 2-3 hours, with moderate difficulty. Be prepared for both uphill and downhill terrain. 🚶♂️
Weather: The weather in the mountains can change quickly, so it’s best to bring a light jacket or rain gear. 🌧️
Accommodation: You’ll be staying in a traditional Mbaru Niang house, which is a communal space with basic facilities—an authentic local experience! 🏡
Cash Only: Waerebo has no ATMs, so bring enough cash for personal expenses or souvenirs. 💵
Limited Electricity: Waerebo runs on solar power with limited electricity, mainly for lighting in the evenings. Bring a power bank if needed! 🔋
Meals Provided: All meals during the tour are included, featuring local dishes. If you have dietary restrictions, let us know in advance. 🍛
Cultural Etiquette: Waerebo is a traditional village with deep cultural roots. Follow your guide’s advice and respect local customs. 🙏
Pregnant Women: The trek is strenuous, and it’s not recommended for pregnant women due to the physical demands of the hike. 🤰
What to Pack: Bring essentials like comfortable trekking shoes, sunscreen, a hat, insect repellent, and personal toiletries. 🧢👟

🚶♂️ The trek takes about 2-3 hours, depending on your pace (and photo stops 📸). Expect gorgeous forest views and a bit of adventure!

🌧️ If the weather is bad before the tour starts, we’ll cancel it and give you a full refund—no worries! However, if bad weather hits while we’re trekking up to Waerebo, we’ll discuss with you whether to continue or head back to Labuan Bajo. In this case, we can’t offer a full refund since some costs, like transportation, will already be incurred. But we’ll work with you to make the best decision for your safety and experience!
🎒 Comfortable shoes, light jacket (mountains can get chilly!), sunscreen, hat, personal toiletries, and maybe a small backpack for snacks and water.
👫 The private tour needs a minimum of 2 people. But don’t worry, if you’re flying solo, we have a shared Waerebo tour just for you on select days!
💡 Waerebo has limited electricity, mostly for lighting at night. Perfect for stargazing and disconnecting from the digital world!
