Komodo Night Rescue: The Evacuation That Saved a Mother and Daughter as Fernando Martín Carreras and Three Sons Remain Missing
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

The video opens in near darkness, lit only by the sharp beams of rescue vessels cutting through the waters of Komodo National Park. What it captures is not chaos, but quiet urgency, a rescue carried out in silence, shock, and disbelief.

On the night of Friday, December 26, 2025, the semi-phinisi tourist boat KM Putri Sakinah suffered a fatal accident in the waters between Labuan Bajo and Padar Island, East Nusa Tenggara. Among those on board was Fernando Martín Carreras, a respected Spanish football figure from Valencia, traveling with his family during the Christmas holiday.

According to official reports, the vessel lost engine power while navigating open waters at night. Left drifting, it was struck by successive large waves. The second impact split the wooden hull, causing the boat to capsize and sink within minutes.

The video documents the moments after the disaster. Seven people were successfully evacuated, including Fernando’s wife and their daughter, who are clearly visible in the footage. The mother, wearing a white shirt, appears visibly shaken as she is helped down from a rescue boat, speaking on her phone while rescue personnel from BASARNAS and Indonesia’s marine police (Polairud) guide survivors to safety.

What the video does not show is equally devastating.

Fernando Martín Carreras and his three sons, aged 12, 10, and 9, remain missing. Family testimony later confirmed that the father and the three boys were likely trapped inside the vessel when it split and was pulled underwater by strong currents.

From the 11 people on board, only seven survived. The four missing victims are all Spanish nationals from the same family, a detail that has drawn international attention and plunged the city of Valencia into mourning.

Search and rescue operations began immediately after the incident was reported at approximately 8:30 p.m. local time. A joint team consisting of Basarnas Maumere, Pos SAR Labuan Bajo, the Indonesian Navy, Polairud, KSOP, and local volunteers continues to conduct sea and coastal searches around Padar Island.

(Photo: Maumere SAR Document) The evacuation process for passengers on a tourist boat that sank in the waters off Padar Island.

Despite extensive efforts, the second day of searching has so far yielded no results. Weather conditions and strong currents remain a major challenge for divers and surface teams.

The Spanish Consulate in Jakarta has confirmed it is providing full consular support to the surviving family members, who are now in a safe location.

More than documentation, the video stands as a human record of survival and loss. It captures the moment a mother and daughter were pulled back from the sea, while a father and three children vanished into it.

As the search continues, the footage remains a stark reminder of how quickly tragedy can unfold at sea, and how thin the line is between rescue and irreversible loss.

The video below shows the evacuation of survivors from the sinking of KM Putri Sakinah in Komodo waters on December 26, 2025.

  • “Aku kepikiran jadi LC…”
mereka hanya sedang mencoba bertahan hidup.
Kadang…
orang hanya ingin didengar tanpa direndahkan.
#Viral #LC #Kehidupan #RealitaHidup #AnakMuda #Ekonomi #ViralIndonesia #CeritaHidup #MentalHealth #Relationship #KehidupanKeras #Empati #BaliViralReporter #ViralBali #Indonesia #StoryOfTheDay #HumanStory #FYPIndonesia #TikTokIndonesia #FacebookViral #DramaKehidupan #KontenViral #Motivasi #RefleksiHidup #SocialIssue #LifeStory #ViralVideo #BaliToday #TrendingIndonesia
  • Nyesek banget. 🤢 #EsKepalCicak #ViralJijik #SafetyFirst #JajanBijak #balireporter
#Bali #BaliNews #KutaUtara #Badung #SungaiBali #SempadanSungai #VillaBali #PembangunanBali #LingkunganBali #SaveBali #KrisisLingkungan #BaliUpdate #BeritaBali #BaliHariIni #IndonesiaNews #ViralNews #UrbanDevelopment #Overdevelopment #ProtectBali #heybali
Penyelidikan masih berlangsung, sementara motif serangan belum diketahui.
