BADUNG, Bali — As the holy month of Ramadan draws to a close, Muslims across Bali and around the world prepare to celebrate Idul Fitri, a time of spiritual renewal, family gatherings, and—perhaps most significantly in the workplace—moments of reconciliation.

The tradition of seeking and offering forgiveness, known in Indonesia as “mohon maaf lahir dan batin,” is central to the holiday. For professionals working in Bali’s multicultural environment, where colleagues may come from different islands, countries, and faith traditions, finding the right words to express this sentiment can strengthen workplace relationships and build lasting goodwill.

Whether you’re sending a quick message to a supervisor, a thoughtful email to a team member, or a group note to your office chat, here are 50 Eid greetings in both English and Balinese—crafted to suit the diverse workplaces that define modern Bali.

More Than Just Words

These Eid greetings are more than messages to be sent via text or social media. They represent a sincere intention to strengthen relationships, nurture workplace harmony, and create a warmer, more respectful professional environment.

In Bali’s uniquely multicultural setting—where Balinese Hinduism meets Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, and other faiths—the tradition of seeking forgiveness transcends religious boundaries. It becomes a shared cultural practice that reinforces the island’s spirit of tolerance and mutual respect.

Whether you choose English for international colleagues or Balinese to honor the island’s local culture, the sentiment remains the same: a wish for peace, a request for forgiveness, and hope for continued collaboration in the year ahead.

Rahajeng Idul Fitri 1447 H. Moga-maga kerahayuan miwah karahajengan satata ngiringin iraga sami.

  • A viral video posted on December 20, 2025, has drawn renewed attention to street safety in one of Bali’s most popular areas. The footage shows a Russian national targeted in a daylight snatch attempt while walking through Canggu. Captured on CCTV and followed by the victim’s own emotional recording, the video documents the moment a motorcycle rider approached from behind and attempted to grab her phone. The attempt failed when the device slipped and shattered on the road, but the impact went far beyond physical damage. In her follow-up video, the victim appears visibly shaken, saying she no longer feels safe walking in Bali. While her phone was not stolen, the psychological toll was immediate and profound. The incident has since sparked intense discussion among tourists, expats, and long-term residents about pedestrian safety in areas long perceived as vibrant and secure. Canggu has become a global hub for digital nomads and travelers, but rapid growth, congestion, and crowded streets have also created new challenges. This incident serves as a reminder that public safety remains a shared responsibility, and that trust in a destination is built not only on beauty and culture, but on how safe people feel in their daily movements. 🔗 Full story:
