Legian and surrounding areas in Bali experienced renewed flooding on Sunday morning following continuous heavy rainfall overnight, disrupting daily activity and highlighting ongoing vulnerabilities in one of the island’s most densely developed tourism zones.
Visual monitoring and field observations from early morning show significant water accumulation across multiple roads and residential areas. Prolonged rainfall linked to extreme weather conditions has caused surface water to overflow, affecting traffic flow and access to key locations.
Areas Affected
Several sections of Legian were observed under standing water, including:
- Jalan Dewi Sri
- Jalan Dewi Sri IV
- Jalan Prajanatha
- Nearby residential neighborhoods and connecting arterial roads
In some locations, water levels were high enough to force motorists, particularly motorcycle riders, to proceed with caution. A fuel station in the area was also seen partially submerged, underscoring the extent of the flooding.
Overflowing drainage channels and waterways were visible throughout the area, carrying debris and household waste, a recurring issue during periods of intense rainfall.
Ongoing Weather Risks
As of Sunday morning, rain was still falling across Legian and nearby districts. Authorities and residents expressed concern that continued precipitation could prolong flooding or worsen conditions in low-lying areas.
While no official evacuation orders have been issued, the situation serves as another reminder of the growing impact of extreme weather on Bali’s urban infrastructure, particularly in high-density zones shaped by years of rapid development.

Residents, workers, and visitors are advised to remain alert and exercise caution when traveling through flood-prone areas. Non-essential travel through severely affected roads should be avoided where possible. Motorists are encouraged to monitor weather updates and local traffic information before setting out.
