Local authorities in Buleleng Regency are finalizing preparations for the 2026 Lovina Festival, set to run from July 24 to 29, as part of a broader push to boost tourism to Bali’s less-visited northern coast.
“We’ve asked all regional government agencies to ensure their respective readiness so the festival runs safely, in an orderly manner, and comfortably for tourists, since Lovina Festival is part of the 2026 Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN),” said Putu Ayu Reika Nurhaeni, Chair of the Lovina Festival 2026 Organizing Committee, at a meeting held Monday at the Buleleng Regency Culture and Tourism Office.
What’s on the Program
The festival will feature a wide range of attractions, including a mini sailboat race, a run, cross-country competition, the Sapi Gerumbungan traditional cow race, a fish-eating cultural event, cultural performances, and modern music entertainment.
Organizers hope the festival will boost tourist arrivals, stimulate the local economy, and strengthen Lovina’s position as one of North Bali’s leading tourist destinations, an area long overshadowed by the south’s dominance in Bali’s tourism industry.
Traffic, Security and Emergency Preparations
To support smooth operations, the Transportation Agency has prepared 10 parking areas spread across the festival zone, supported by Kalibukbuk and Kaliasem villages, to help manage vehicle congestion during the event.
On the security front, the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), alongside related agencies, will conduct screening, patrols, and security operations at 14 strategic points throughout the festival. The Fire and Rescue Department has also placed personnel on standby to respond to potential emergencies, while the Health Department has arranged medical services for visitors.
Waste Management and Environmental Measures
The Environmental Agency (DLH) has set up several temporary waste collection points across the festival area and scheduled cleanup operations three times daily. Small business vendors have also been asked to manage waste at the source to help keep the tourist area clean.
Supporting Local Businesses
“On the economic side, the Department of Trade, Industry, Cooperatives, and Small and Medium Enterprises has curated 82 small business vendors to ensure the products sold meet high quality standards and appeal to tourists,” Nurhaeni said.
